~DINANOE NO. 2412 By Mr, ~illis <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE tO amend Ordinanc& No. 1786, entitled "Au Ordinance providing for the <br />zoning or districting of the 0ity of Lakewood and the regulation of the location, <br />bulk, heights and uses of the buildings and other structures and premises and re- <br />pealing Ordinance No. 1479", and declaring an emergency. <br /> <br />WWEWEAS, for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety, it becomes <br />desirable to change the Zoning Ordinauoe as hereinafter set forths <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY TB~ ~OUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAXEWOOD, STATE OF C~IO: <br /> <br />Sec%ion 1. That Ordinance No. 1786, entitled "Au Ordinance providing for the zoning <br />or districting of the City of Lakewood and the regulation of the location, Bulk, <br />heights and uses of the buildings and other structures and premises and repealing <br />Ordinance No. 1479", <br /> <br /> That Paragraph A, Section 20 of said ordinance in reference to side and <br />rear ymrd sxceptiens which now reads as follows: <br /> <br />"The area required in a yard at any given level shall be epen from <br />such level to the sky unobstructed except for the ordinary projections <br />of sky lights and parapets above the bottom of such yard and except <br />for the ordinary project~'ons of window sills, Belt courses, cornices <br />and other ornamental reassures to the extent cf not more than four <br />inches, except that within five feet of the street wail, a cornice <br />may project not over three feet into such yard and provided that if <br />the building is not over two and one-half stories er thirty feet in <br />height, the coruiee may project not over more than t~wo and one-half <br />feet into such yard." <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows and this amendment to take ~he:~ <br />place of the original Section 20 or Ordinance No. 1786 passed by the Coencil of the <br />City of Lakewood, February 13, 1922 <br /> <br /> (a) "The area required in a yard at a~y given level shall Be open from <br /> such level tc the sky unobstructed, exoep% for the ori~-~y projections <br /> of sky lights and parapets above the bottom of such yard and except <br /> for the ordinary projections of window sills, belt courses, cornices <br /> and other ornamental rear-ares to the ex'cent of not more than four <br /> inches, except that within five feet of the street wall, a cornice <br /> may project not over three feet into such yard, provided the building <br /> is more than t~o and one-half stories or 30 feet in height.
