ORDINANCE NO. 3332 by Mr. Phillips <br /> <br />AN E;~ERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor to place on definite <br />furloughs without pay, employees in various departments of the city. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, when the appropriation ordinance for the year 1932 was <br />adopted it was based upon an estimated amount of receipts and balances <br />in the General Fund making an estimated total of $753,918.00, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, general property taxes ham fallen below the estimate of the <br />County Auditor and the amount received from intangible taxes also has <br />fallen below the amount estimated by the County Auditor, and receipts <br />from the operation of the Lekewood City Hospital and the Lake~ood <br />Municipal ~ourt have fallen below the revenues estimated for the year, <br />all of which has resulted in a d~ficiency for the year 1932 in operatin~ <br />revenues making it necessary to reach an adJustmen~ of operatix~ expens~ <br />for all depar~ents of the city,- <br /> <br />THEREFORE,BE iT ORDAINED BY THE CUUNCIL of the City of LaVabo od, State <br />of Ohio, two-thirds of all members ~hereof oonourring:-~ .~ <br /> <br />Section 1 That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized ~o place on <br />furlough for definite periods, without pay, employees indi~ated as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Department of Public Safety <br /> <br />Division of Building Inspection - Three (3) Assistant <br />Building Inspectors for one month each, without.pay. <br /> <br />Division of Health - Two (2)' Sanitary Officers fox' one <br />month each, without pay. <br /> <br />~ep.artment of Public Works <br /> <br />Division of Permits - One fl) Permit Clerk, One (1) <br />Stenographer-Clerk, one (1) Telephone 0perator-Olerk <br />for one month each., without pay. <br /> <br />~ivisio~ qf Ensineerin~ - one (1) Transitman and three <br />(3) r~dmen for one month each, Wlthou~ Day · <br />~i~Isi~n of .Parks - T~e ~ <br /> Supe~intendent of Parks and the <br />Caretaker at Madison Park for one month each, without <br />pay, <br /> <br /> Division of Streets and Parks - One (1~ Stenographer- <br /> ....... C~ rk for one m~h, without pay. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the employees enumerated in Section One hereof shall <br />be fUrlOughed at such time and in such manner as the May°r may direct <br />wi~h the least effect on the service of the respec~ive departments. <br /> <br />.~ection 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure to provide for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and property and to provide for the usual daily operation of <br />municipal dep~rtmen~s, for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, <br />an~ shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: ..... <br /> <br />18, 193S. <br /> <br />Morris H.
