- 2 - <br /> <br />bound, and of a size not less than 6" in length and breadth. In <br />addition to said book every person so licensed shall at the time of <br />such purchase fill out on a blank to be furnished by the Police De- <br />partment of the City of Lakewood such information as may be called <br />for by said blank form, and on the back of said blank form shall be <br />written by the seller in his own handwriting, his name, age and address. <br />No entry in said book or on such card shall be erased, obliterated, <br />altered or defaced. <br /> <br /> Section 6. Every such licenssd dealer shall in every weekday <br />before the hour of 12:00 o'clock noon make out a report on a blank <br />to be furnished by the Police Department for that purpose, a legible <br />and correct copy of the record required to be kept containing all <br />the~particulars of all purchases of such articles ~ade on the pre- <br />ceding business day; and shall deliver said report to the Chief of <br />Police or his authorized representative together with said blanks <br />furnished by the Police Department properly filled and signed by the <br />seller, in accordance with the provisions of the preceding section <br />of this ordinance; or said report and filled blank shall if the Chief <br />of Police so elects, be mailed to such address as the Chief of Police <br />may in writing designate. <br /> <br /> Section 7. Every such licensed dealer at the time of making any <br /> purchase as aforesaid shall attach a tag with a designating number <br /> thereon, legibly written in the English language, to each article <br /> purchased; and shall make an entry of such number in the book above <br /> provided for in this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section 8. No person licensed under the provisions of this ordi- <br /> nance shall sell or remove from his place of business any such second- <br /> hand goods, articles or things sold to him as aforesaid, until the <br /> same shall have been in his possession at least thirty days. <br /> <br /> Section 9. No person licensed under the provisions of this ordi~ <br /> nance shall purchase any second-hand goods, articles or things from <br /> any person who is at the time intoxicated or from a habitual drunkard <br /> or any person known by him to be a thief or an associate of thieves <br /> or any receiver of stolen property, or from any person he has a reason <br /> to suspect to be such. <br /> <br /> Section 10. No person shall receive by sale, barter, exchange or <br /> otherwise an article mentioned in this ordinance, of a minor, knowing <br /> or having reason to believe him to be such, or from any person between <br /> the hours of nine o'clock P. M. and seven o'clock A. M. <br /> <br /> Section ll. This ordinance shall not apply to persons who deal <br /> exclusively in furniture, nor to persons who deal exclusively in <br /> second-hand automobiles. Nothing contained in this ordinance shall <br /> be construed to apply to pianos, books, magazines~ rugs, tapestries, <br /> burlaps, paintings, drawings, etchings and engravings. <br /> <br /> Section 12. Penalty. Any person, firm, corporation or associa- <br /> tion convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this ordi- <br /> nance shall be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than $100.00 for <br /> the first offense and for each subsequent offense not less than <br /> $100.00 nor more than $300.00 and may be imprisoned in the workhouse <br /> for not more than 30 days, or both. <br /> <br /> <br />
