0RDINANC~ NO. 5659 BY ~rs. Spalding <br /> <br /> AN E~{ERGENCY ordinance authorizing the settlement <br />of claims of Louise Dewey and Frederick L. Dewey, her husband, <br />for injuries sustained by her by falling on defective sidewalk. <br /> <br /> ~q~EREAS, Louise D~wey was injured December ~l, 1936, <br />by falling on a defective sidewalk and an emergency has arisen <br />to settle said claims promptly and to provide for the usual daily <br />operation of a municipal depertment. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFOEE, BE IT ORDAINED BY u'Uiu: 00UNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LAEEW00D, STATE OF 0HIO, two-thirds of all members there- <br />of concurring: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the settlement of the claims of <br />Louise and Frederick L. Dewey, hey husband, for the sum of fifty <br />dollars ($50.00) is hereby authorized, upon the execution of <br />releases duly approved by the director of law. The director <br />of finance is hereby authorized to pay said amount upon the <br />delivery to him of proper releases duly executed and approved <br />and to charge same to General fund. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to <br />be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and shal~ be in full force and effect upon its passage <br />and approval. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />r 1-- 1937 <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
