ORD'rl~,~I'OE N0, ~697 BY ~rs, Spalding An emergency ordinance to provide for the donation and transfer to the State of Ohio by duly executed deed certain real estate in the City of I~kewood acquired by the City for a site for the eredtion of armory by the State · Uaereae, the City ef Lakewood as authorized by ordinance No. S691 adopted by the council Auguet 2, 1937, lms acquired certain real estate in the 6ity of Lakewood for a site for the erection of an armory by the State ef Ohio, and the City desires to donate said l~nd to tLe State bf Ohio for such purpoaes and the State of Ohio has indicated its willingness to accept said donation by deed for such purpose! and ~hereas, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate preser- vation of the public peace a~d safety and the prompt erection of said armory, and t o provide for the usual daily operation cf a municipal depart- ment. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT OBDAIN~DBY THE 00UI~CIL OF THE CITY OF I~- WCOL,OHIO, two-thirds of all members thereof concurringl Section l. That the City of Lakewood hereby does donate to the State of Ohio as a site for the erection of an armory the real estate hereinafter described, and the mayor-director of public works and the di- rector of finance as clerk are hereby aut]~orized to execute and deliver to the State of Ohio a deed in fee simple for said property ~nd to t aec all necessary steps to perfect the transfer of the same accordingly. Said real e state is described as followel Situated in the City of Lakewood, County of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, arid known as being part of original Rockport Township See- tien N~. 2S, bounded and described as followl8 Beginning at the northeasterly corner of sublet No. 24 in the Wayne Avenue Subdivision of part of original Rockport Tm~nship Section No. 23, as shown by the roccrded plat in Volume 30 of Maps, page 13 of Cuyahoga county records; said place of beginning being also 195.5~ feet distant southerly measured along the easterly line of s~id subdivision from the southeasterly line of Detroit Avenue (66 feet wide); thence continuing southerly along the easterly line of sublets Nos. 24 to 42, both inclusive~?~0.13 feet to the north- westerly corner of sublet No. 5~ in the John~eb~us subdivision cf part of original Roc]cport Township Section No. 2~, as shown by the recorded plat in Volume ~$ cf Maps, page 6 of Oayahoga county re- cords; thence northeasterly along the northwesterly line of said sublet No. §~, I~?.Z6 feet to the westerly line of suBlo~ No. 53 in s~id last mentioned subdivision at a point in said westerly line 2~.3~ feet northerly from the southwesterly corner of said sublet No. 5~ thence no~therly along the westerly lines of sublets Nos. 53 to ?1, both inclusive, 730.61 feet to the northwesterly corner of said sublet No. 71~ thence westerly in a dire0t line about 1~2 feet to the place of be~inning, be the same more or lees but sub- Ject to all legal higl~ys.
