ORDINANCE NO. 3777 By Mr. Fairgrieve <br /> <br />AN ~RGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section III Subsection (e) Paragraph (d) <br />of Ordinance No. 3532, entitled, "An emergency ordinance to amend Section <br />III Subsections (e), a, b and c of Ordinance No, 3527 entitled "An ordi- <br />nance regulating and licensing taxicabs and automobiles kept for hire a~d <br />~i,very pu. rposes in. the City of Lakewood", and also Section IV, Subsections <br />e) and (f) of Ordmnance No. 3527 entitled "An ordinance regulating and <br />licensing taxicabs and automobiles kept for hire and livery purposes in <br />the City of Lakewood, Ohio," <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable to reduce the license fee as provided in <br />said sections~ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen making it necessary to amend sections of <br />the ordinance relating to the regulation and licensing of taxicabs and to <br />provide for the usual daily operation of a municipal department. <br /> <br />NOW, T~REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ~,A~W¢OOD, OHIO <br />two-thirds of all members thereof concurring: <br /> <br /> Section le That Section III Subsection (e) paragraph (d) under <br />the caption "RECIPROCITY%~TH FOREIGN Lru-NICIPALITY TAXICABS" of Ordinance <br />No. 3532, entitled "An emergency ordinance to amend Section III, Subsections <br />(e), a, b and c of Ordinance No. 3527 entitled "An ordinance regulating <br />and licensing taxicabs and sutomobiles kept for hire and livery purposes <br />in the City of Lak~vood", be and it hereby is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> (d) Such foreign taxicabs may be granted a reciprocal permit <br />providing paragraphs (a) and (c) of this section are complied ~ith and that <br />the foreign municipality does not levy fees in excess of those hereinbelow <br />stated for a s~m~lar permit, and after having deposited wi%h the director <br />a fee of two dollars ($2.00) per taxicab, but for a Fleet operator not to <br />exceed an aggregate of one hundred dollars ($1OOeO0) for as many taxicabs <br />as allowed under the certificate of convenience and necessity. However, the <br />foregoing provisions as to license fees of foreign taxicabs shall not be <br />applicable in the event that the license fee required by said foreign muni- <br />ci~alit-y be less than that provided herein, in which even~ the director <br />shall require the payment of the difference between the sum of t~vo dollars <br />and the license fee required by such foreign municipality, but in no case <br />less than the rate of t~o dollars ($2e00) ~er taxicab. ~ <br /> <br /> Section 2. That Section IV, Subsections (e) and (f) under the <br />caption "CERTIFICATES"~-~f O~dT~uce,3%~7.,,.entitted "~u ordinance regulating <br />and !icensin~ taxicabs and automobiles kept for hire and livery purposes in <br />the City of Lakewood, Ohio", be and it hereby is amended to read as fellers: <br /> <br /> (e) At the time of the issuance of such certificate and annually <br />thereafter, on or before the thirty-first day of December of each calendar <br />year, every taxicab company now operating or which shall hereafter operate <br />in the city, shall pay to the director a fee of ~vo dollars ($2e00) for each <br />taxicab to be operated by it for the ensuing year, which fee shall be in <br />addition to the fee required to be paid on motor vehicles under the laws of <br />the State of Ohio, and in addition to the driver' s license fee as required <br />by the provisions hereof, and any taxicab company operating fifty cabs or <br />more shall be entitled to a certificate as aforesaid for the sum of one hun- <br />dred dollars ($100eO0)~ <br /> <br /> <br />
