ORDINANCE NO. 3865 <br /> <br />BY Z~r. Thonlps on <br /> <br /> AN ~RGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the settlement of the claim <br />of ~[rs. M~bel Steffins for personal injuries sustained by falling on <br />defective sidewalk. <br /> <br /> · EEREAS, ~k[rs. ~bel Steffins was injured on April 14, 1939, <br />by falling on defective sidewalk at or about 1296 St. Charles Avenue in <br />the City of I~kewood and au emergency has arisen to settle the claim <br />promptly and to provide for the usual dsily operation of a municipal <br />department~ now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAIhrED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAXEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> S~ECTiON 1: That settlement of the claim of Mrs. Mabel <br /> Steffins for the sum of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) <br /> is hereby authorized, upon the execution of proper release~ <br /> duly approved by the Director of Law. <br /> <br /> That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to <br /> pay said amount upon the delivery to him of proper release, <br /> duly executed by Mrs. Mable Steffins and approved, and to <br /> charge the same to the General ~ - ~-M (D~mages Paid by ~ity). <br /> <br />S~ECTION 2: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />e~.mrgency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble and, <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be <br />in force immediately upon its adoption and ~Oproval by the <br />~1~ or. <br /> <br />App r ove%~~~/~ ~_ <br /> <br /> <br />
