ORDINANCE NO. 3894 <br /> <br />BY Mr. F~hrenbach <br /> <br /> ~I ~..,~RGF~'CY ORDINanCE authorizing the settlement of the claim <br />o£ Mrs. Jos. H. Shaw for damages to her automobile caused by employee of <br />the City. <br /> <br /> · P~_J~S, on or about December 14, 1939, employees of the street <br />department of the City of I~k ewood damaged the license plate bracket on <br />the automobile of Mrs. Jos. H. Shaw in attempting to move it from the place <br />where it was parked in front of 16541 ~Madison Avenue, settlement of which <br />claim by the payment of Two Dollars and Twenty-five Cents ($2.25) was ap- <br />proved by Council at its meeting on March 4, 1940, and <br /> <br /> ~REAS, an emergency exists to provide for the usual daily op- <br />eration of a municipal department arising out of the necessity of settling <br />said claim promptly, now, therefore <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE~DOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Finance be, and he is hereby, <br />authorized to pay ~[rs. Jos. H. Shaw of 1353 Ethel Avenue~ Lake- <br />wood, Ohio, the sum of Two Dollars and Twenty-five Gents ($2.25) <br />in full settlement of her claim against the City of La~ewood <br />for damages to her automobile caused by the breaking of the <br />license plate bracket by the employees of the City of Lakewood <br />on or about December 14, 1939, upon receipt of satisfactory re- <br />lease signed by said ~rs. Jos. H. Shaw releasing the City of <br />T=Wewood from any and all further claims in connection there- <br /> <br />SECTION 2: That the amount specified in Section 1 hereof be <br />paid from the General Fund - Damages Paid ~y the City. <br /> <br />SECTION ~: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an em- <br />ergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br /> <br /> op d.' i 8 1940 <br /> <br /> <br />
