No. 4540 by Mr. Tyler <br /> <br /> AN ~RGE~CY OP~D~NANCE, fixing the standard of time throughout <br />the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, t~is Ordinate constitutes an emergency in that the City <br />of Cleveland and other municipalities in CuyahoEa County have adopted <br />ordinances providing a standard of t~m~- beginning on the last Smaday in <br />April ~ferent than ~he standard of time operative in othe~ por~ions of <br />the ~Stcte! in that this Council deems it best to have f~he standard of <br />time uniform throughout Ouyahoga Count23 and in t~at it provides for the <br />public health, welfare, safety and the usual operation of a municipal <br />~epartment~ now~ %herefore~ <br /> <br /> BE IT ORD~INED BY THE OOU~$CIL OF T~ CITY OF LAKEWOOD, ~TATE OF C~IO~ <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the standard of time throughout the City ef <br />Lakewo~d shall be that of the 75th meri~_~ of longitude west from Greenwich <br />except that from 2~00 o'clock A. M. of the last Sunday of April until 2~00 <br />o'clock ~. M. of the last Sunday of September in each c~.lendar year the <br />stand~.rd of time throughout~.the City of Lakewood zhell be advanced one hour. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That municipal offices and legal proceedings 'of the City <br /> of Lakewood shall be regulated by the st,ndard of time, fi~ed by Sec%ion 1 <br /> hereof, and when by ordinanceS, resolution or action of any municipal <br /> officer or body, an act must be performed at or within a prescribed time it <br /> shall be so performed according to such standard of time. <br /> <br /> ~ection 3. ~ben a clock or other timepiece is in er upon a public <br /> building maintained at the expense of the City of Lakewood, the board, <br /> commission, officer or ether person having control and charge of s~ch building <br /> shall have such clock er ether timepiece set and ran according to the <br /> standard Sf time as provided herein. <br /> <br /> Section 4. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br /> measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and~ provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all aerobe r s elected to <br /> Council, it shall take effect and be in force Immediately upon its adoptzloc <br /> and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br />
