<br /> ~RF~S, Lakewood Rapid Transit, Inc., an Ohio corporation, h~s for
<br />more than nine ~ears last past operated motor coaches in the City of Lakewood
<br />and to and from the City of Cleveland, Ohio, under OrdinanCe No. 3674 and
<br />amendments ~theretcj and ~
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, for the convenience of the citizens of the City of Lakewood,
<br />the continuation of transportation of passengers for hire as provided under said
<br />Ordinance No. 4310 and amendment thereto and under the terms and conditions as
<br />hereinafter provided is desirablej and
<br />
<br /> %~ERF~S, under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of Article XVIII of the Constitution
<br />of Ohio, municipalities have the right to enter into contracts by ordinance for the
<br />service cf public utilities;
<br />
<br /> NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BYTHE COUNCIL GF THE CITY OF LAKlfS¥00D:

<br />SECTION 1
<br />
<br /> That Section VI of Ordinance No. 4310, adopted by the Council of the Oity
<br />of Lakewood April 2, 1945, approved by She Mayor April 3, 1945 and as amended by
<br />Ordinance No. 4497 adopted July 21, 1947, approved July 22, 1947, and entitled:
<br />"An ordinance granting to Lakewood Rapid Transit, In~., the authority, right and
<br />privilege to establish,maintain and operate a motor bus transportation system in
<br />the City of Lakewood, Ohio, and to and from the City of Cleveland, Ohio, for the
<br />transportation of passengers for hire over specified routes, and fixing the rates
<br />of fare and terms and conditions of such grant for a period beginning on the
<br />effective d~te of this Ordinance and ending on the the 1st ~ of July, 1957; and
<br />~epealing Ordinance No. 3674, adopted by the Council of the ity of Lakewood
<br />may 17, 1937, vetoed May 26, 1937, passed over veto J~e 7, 1937, as_amended by
<br />Ordinance No. 3723, adopted January3, 1938, approved anuary 3, 1938, ane as amen~ec

<br />specified, or as hereafter established between the termini in Lakewood m~d the ternin
