AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the settlement of the cleim of <br />Gloria Farley for personal injuries sustained and expenses incarredby reason <br />of falling on a sidewalk~ <br /> <br /> ~REAS, Gloria Farley incurred personal injuries on or about December <br />23, 1946 by reason of falling on a sidewalk at, in front of, or near 1383 Sloane <br />Av~uue in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> V~HEREAS, this ~dinance constitutes an emergency in that in ~rder to <br />save the city frOm litigati?n, unnecessary expense~ arxl possible additioDal obli- <br />gations, it authorizes the immediate settlem4nt and adjustment of said claim and <br />provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, n~v, therefore, <br /> <br />HE IT CRDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IAKEWOOD, S~TE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Sectic~ 1. That settlement of the claim ~ Gloria Farley for the <br />of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) is hereby authorized, conditioned upon the <br />execution and delive~ by Gloria Farley and P~r husband, John W. Farley, of a <br />full release in favor cf the Cityof Imkewocd duly approved by the Director cf Iaw. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance be, and he is hereby, authorized <br />a~d directed to pay the sum of FiVe Hundred DOllars ($500.00) to Gloria Farly upon <br />delivery to him of the foregoing release duly executed and approved, and to charge <br />the same to the General Pund - D~ages Paid by the City. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
