Bethel was injured on or about Septe~mber i6, 1948 in <br />the form of a burn by a hot water bottle while a patient at Lakewood Hospital; <br />and <br /> V~U6ERF~%S, it is the option of this Council that the employe who placed <br />the bottle was engaged in a function such ths£ the City incurred no legal obli- <br />gation to Howard J. Bethel on account of his said injuries but nevertheless de- <br />siring to reimburse him for expenses; and <br /> <br /> I~?~RF~ this ordinance constitutes an emergency in that settlement has <br />been made on the basis of payment fort~hwith, and in that ~his ordZnance provides <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now~ therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT 0PJPAIh~ED BY TE~ COhNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA.K~VOOD, STATE OF <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Fi~nance be~ and he is hereby, authorized <br />and directed to pay to Howard J. Bethel, the sum of. One Hundred Dollars (~.100.00), <br />as a moral claim conditioned, h~vever, upon the execution and delivery by Howard <br />J.
