ORDINANCE NO. 4642 BY Mr. Quinn AN E~ERGENCY ORDINANCE giving the consent of the City of Lakewood to the im- provement of Berea Road by surface planing at an estimated cost of $1,400.00. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commfssioners has tentatively approved a con- struction program for the year 1949, and, WHEREAS, one of these roads proposed to be improved is a city street and also a County Road known as Berea Road, lying between Carbon Road and Lakewood Heights Boulevard, and, ~{EREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety and to provide for the us~,a! daily o.oerat~ion of a municipal department, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ~0UNCIL OF THE CIT~ OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1· That it is declared to be of public interest that the ~onsant of the city be and such consent is hereby given te the improvement cf the above mentioned highway between the termini aforesm~id. Section 2. It is hereby declared that the improvement aforesaid is of suf- ficient public importance to the city and that said city is financially able to con- tribute nothing toward the cost thereof. Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety, such neces- sity exists by reason of the condition of said road between the points hereinbefore designated, in consequence whereof great public inconvenience ~s being suffered and public travel endangered and delayed, and for the reason that it is necessary to pro- ceed at once in order to complete the t~provement cf said road during the coming year. Section 4. That the Clerk be, and he is hereby directed to furnish to the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, Ohio~ a certified copy of this ordinance immediately upon the taking effect thereof.
