ORDINANCE NO. 13-52 BY Mr. Vickery <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement Chapter ~3 of the Admin- <br />istrative Code of The Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by the <br />enactment of new Section l~3.10, providing vacations for City employees. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency for the reasons <br />that there are no general provisions providing for the vacations of <br />City employees generally, that it is deemed necessary in the interests of <br />the public welfare and safety that such provisions be made and take <br />effect January l, 1953, and in that it provides for the usual daily op- <br />eration of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Chapter $3 of the Administrative Code of The <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be, and the same is hereby~. <br />supplemented by enacting new Section l~3.10, to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 1~3.10 VACATIONS. (a) Subject to the provisions of <br />Section 1~3.05 of the Administrative Code all full time <br />permanent employees, holding positions concerning which <br />the compensation and conditions of employment are fixed <br />primarily by the Council, shall be allowed two weeks annual <br />vacations with pay, except and provided further that employ- <br />ees who have been employed by the City for fifteen or more <br />years shall be allowed three weeks annual vacations with <br />pay. <br /> <br /> (b) No employee shall be entitled to more than one <br />vacation in any calendar year. Each employee whose com- <br />pensation is fixed on an annual basis may cumulate vaca- <br />tion time not in excess of six weeks to be taken in any <br />one calendar year subject, otherwise, to the provisions <br />of Section 1~3.05. Vacation pay of all employees shall <br />be computed on the basis of compensation schedules, in- <br />eluding regular time as to hourly employees, in effect <br />at the time vacations are taken. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emer- <br />gency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and, pro- <br />vided it receives the affirmative uote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force January l, <br />1953. <br /> <br />Adopted: December 1, 1952 <br /> <br />Approved:December 4, 19~2 . <br /> <br />George F.
