ORDINANCE NO. ~802 ~ Mr. ¥ickery AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Board of County Cow~esioners cf Cuyahnga County, for the purpose cf coordinating Civil Defense activities ~ithin Cu~ahoga County. ~IEREAS, it is of para~ount iapartance to all local Civil Defense Organ- isations to ooordinste the Civil Defense activities within the area of Cu~ahega County, and, ~ ~EAS, the Board ef County C~-~4-sionars of C~ahoga County ia wilii~g to perfor~ the cornice of coordinating ouch Civil Defense activities of the City of Lakewood with those of the C~unty of CtB~ahoga and ~m~cipal corporations therein entering into like agreements, and, ~EREAS, an e~ergency lUliSts tO provide for the i~aediato preservation of the public property, health and lafety and to provide for the usual ~ operation of a a..nAcipal department, now, the~efare, BE IT ORDAI~ FI T~E COUNCIL OF T~E CITY OF LAXENOOD, STATE OF OHIOt Section 1. That the Mayor Be and he is hereby authorized to enter ln~ an agreement with the ~ of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County for the purpose of coordinating Civil Defense activities within Cu2ahoga County, ~ich agreement shall be substantially as follower T~IS A~EEME~ entered into at Lakswood, Ohio this day of 19~ , By and Between the City of Lakewood and the Board of o-~-~ty CO~ of ~"uyahOga County, Ohio, NITNESSETH~ ~H~I~EA$, there now exists in the County of Cuyahega numerous local organizations for Civil Defensej and WHM~EAS, the co-ordination of Civil Defense activities within the area of Cuyahoga County is of paramount l~pertanco to all of the local Civil Defense organizations thereinj and WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood desires to effect such necessary co-ordi- nation By entering into this agreement, in the ~anner provided By law, with the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, in conjunction with other municipalities in said County entering into like agreements! and ~,[EREAS, the Board of County Co~m~issioners of Cuyahoga Covnty is willing to perform th~ service of co-ordinating the Civil Defense activities of the City of Lakewood with those of the County of Cuyahoga and the municipal corpora- tions therein entering into like agreements, in accordance with the provisions hereinafter set forthj NOW, TH~P~ORE, in consideration of the premises and of the mutual ad- vantages to each of the parties hereto, and of the promises each to the other ~ade -- The Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahega County, Ohio, has agreed, and does By these ~presents agree, to render to the City of Lakewood the services of co-ordinating the Civil Defense activities of the City of Lakewood, and to exercise for and on Behalf of the City of Lakeweod such pc~er and authority incident thereto as it may lawfully do, consistent with the provisions herein- after set forth, and the power of the parties hereto to authorize, in oo-ordi- mating such Civil Defense activities with and within Cuyahoga County~
