ORDINANCE NO. 4842 BY Mr. Fahrenbach <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING membership of the City of Lakewood in the <br />Ohio Municipal League and directing the Director of Finance to pay the cost of <br />such memberships and repealing Ordinance No. 4???, adopted September 4, 1951. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appears that the Ohio Municipal League has been formed <br />"to secure and to maintain, through united effort the benefits of enlightened <br />and progressive government to the inhabitants of the municipalities of Ohio; to <br />exchange ideas and experiences, techniques and procedures; to bring about better <br />understanding of the common problems of municipalities, both by local goverrinent <br />and by state government; te obtain a proper and fair determination of the obliga- <br />tions of the sovereign State cf Ohio to the citizens of its municipalities and <br />to aid in the formation of a' planned and Stable program ef financial aid to <br />mU~i. cipalities in harmony with the greatest measure of home rule." ~ and, <br /> <br /> I~E~W.~.~, the cost of membership has been determined by the League <br />accordi~ to population of the respective member cities 8n a basis considered <br />by this Council te be reasonable, now, therefore, <br /> <br />~E. IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF !,_a?~DOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />0HIO: <br /> <br /> Section le That membership of the City of Lakewood in the Ohio <br />Municipal League is hereby determined to be in the interest of its citizens; <br />and such membership is hereby authorized. <br /> <br /> Section 2, That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized <br />and directed, as cost of the membership of the City of Lakewood in said Leagues <br />to pay the sum of $255.27 for the second, third and fourth quarter of the year <br />1952 and $340.35 for each calendar year thereafter, to the Ohio Municipal <br />League; that said payments be charged to Appropriation - General Fund - General <br />Miscellaneous~ <br /> <br /> Section 3.
