Fairgrieve, Gaydos, <br /> Gottermeyer, Lawther, <br /> Ward, Chockley. <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing settlement of the olaim of <br />Mrs. Merle T. Howard, in the total amount of two hundred fifty dollars, <br />arising out of a fall on the North sidewalk on Detroit Avenue, in <br />front of Trinity Lutheran Churoh, at the oorner of Hall and Detroit <br />Avenues in the City of Lakewood, on or about Deoember 23, 1957. <br />WHEREAS, This ordinance oonstitutes an emergenoy in that it <br />may save the City from further expense and possible litigation in <br />that it provides for the immediate settlement of. said claim, and in <br />that it provides for the usual operation of a munioipal department, <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br />Seotion 1- That settlement of the Claim of Mrs. Merle T. <br />Howard in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars is hereby ordered <br />and authorized, oonditioned upon the exeoution and delivery by Mrs. <br />Merle T. Howard of a full release in favor of the City of Lakewood, <br />duly approved by the Direotor of Law. <br />Section 2. That the Direotor of Finanoe be and he is hereby <br />authorized to pay the sum of two hundred i'ifty dollars upon delivery <br />to the Director of Finanoe of the foregoing release duly executed <br />and approved, and to charge the same to the General Fund - Damages <br />Paid by the City. <br />Section 3. That this ordinanoe is hereby declared to be an <br />emergenoy measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br />Adopted:_March 17. 1958 Thomas C.
