ORDINANCE NO. 7-59 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. <br /> <br />G~ttermeyer, LaSher, <br />Ward, Checkley, <br />Fahrenbach, Fairgrieve, <br />Gaydos. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE authorizing membership in the United States <br />Conference of Mayors and autherizing and directing the Director <br />of Finance to pay the cost ef such membership. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The United States Conference ef Mayors exists <br />solely to be of service to the larger cities of the country, and <br />provides a formm for the discussion and solution of problems <br />common to the operations of larger m~nicipalities, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The cost of the annual membership dues is based on <br />population ef the respective cities, and such dues are considered <br />by this Council te be reasonable; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That membership of the City ef Lakeweod in the <br />United States Conference o£ ~ayors is hereby determined to be in <br />the public interests and especially the interests of the citizens <br />ef Lakewood and such membership is hereby authorized. <br /> <br /> Section 2. 5~at the Director of Finance is hereby authorized <br />and directed to pay the s~m of two hundred fifty dollars for the <br />year 1959 as cost of membership of the City of Lakewood in the <br />United States Conference of Mayors; that such payment be charged <br />to the General Fund - Contingencies. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
