ORDINANCE NO. 9-59 BY: Messrs. Gottermeyer, Law, her, Ward, Checkley, Fahrenbach, Fairgrieve, Gaydos. AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE amthorizing settlement of the ~laim of Gladys Stanton, in the total amount of one thomsand dollars, arising out of a fall into a manhole at the corner of Brockley and Clifton Bomlevard, on December 6, 1958. ~EREAS~ This ordinanceconstitutes aa emergency in that it may save the city from further expens~ and possible litigation in that it provides for the immediate settlement of said claim, and in that it provides for the usual operation of a municipal department, now, there- fore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE~OD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That settlement of the claim ef Gladys StaRteR in the amount of one thousand dollars is hereby ordered and authorized,~. conditioned upon the execution and delivery by Gladys Stamton of a full release in favor of the City of Lakewood, duly approved by the Director of Law. SectieR 2. That the Director of FiRance be and he is hereby authorized to pay the sum of ere thousaRd dollars to Gladys StaRteR, upon delivery to the Director of FiRaRce of the foregoing release duly executed and approved; aRd to charge the same to the GeReral Fund - Damages Paid by the City. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be aR emergency measmre for the reasons stated iR the preamble hereof aRd provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be iR force immediately upoR its adoption and approval by the N~yor.
