<br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the l~ayer, ex officio
<br />Director ef Public Safe~¥, to enter into an agreement en behalf ef the
<br />City ef Lakeweed with the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahega~:
<br />County, Ohio, for the renewal of the agreement providing for the f~-
<br />nishing efa police teletype system.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Section 307.15 of the Revised Code of Ohio authorizes
<br />municipalities to enter into contra ~s with the Beard ef County Com-
<br />missioners Fe~ the rendition of certain services; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Pursuant to such section, the ~ity ef Lakewoed and
<br />Beard of County Commissioners of Cuyahega County entered into an agree-
<br />ment date~ April 12, 1~53, for the installation and maintenance efa
<br />police teletype system, a~d. such agreement was effective J~e l, 1953
<br />and expired on June l, 19~6, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, By Ordinance No. 45-56, adopted by the Council on
<br />May 7, 1~56 and approved by the Mayer en May $, 19~6, such agreement
<br />dated April 12, 1~53 was extended for an additional three year period
<br />expiring J~ne l, 1~59; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, ~u emergency exists, in that in the judgment ef this
<br />Council hazards are such as te require immediate action te afford full
<br />protection to the City ef Lakewood and i~s citizens in the continua-
<br />tion of furnishing such police ~eletype system service; and in that
<br />this ordinance provides for the immediate preservation ~f the public
<br />psace, property, health er safety, er for the daily operations efa
<br />municipal department; now, therefore,
<br />
<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE
<br />OF OMI0:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, ex officio Director of Public
<br />Safe~y, is hereby authorized and directed on behalf of the City of
<br />Lakewoed, to enter into anagreement with the Beard of County Commis-
<br />sioners of Cuyahega County, Ohio, which said agreement shall read
<br />substantially as fellows:
<br />
<br />"WHEREAS, on ~he 12~h day ef April, 19~3, thleOity of Lakewood,
<br />an Ohio municipal corporation, entered into a contract with
<br />the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahega County, Ohio,
<br />for the installation efa police teletype system; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said agreement was effective as of .June l, 1953 and
<br />expired on June l, 1~56; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 45-56, adopted by ~0enncil on May
<br />7, 1956 and approved by the Mayer OhM ay 9, 1956, such agree-
<br />ment was extended for an additional three year period ex-
<br />piring June l, 15~$; and
<br />
<br />EEREAS, the parties hereto are desirous ef extending said
<br />agreement.

<br />NON, THEREFORE, in consideration of ~he mutmal premises ef
<br />~he parties hereto, i~ is hereby understood and agreed that
<br />the contract ef April 12, 1953, be and the same is hereby
<br />renewed for an additional period of three years from and
<br />
