In the Division of Fire, Department of <br />Public Safety, Group 1 firemen shall consist of firemen who <br />have continuously served in the Division of Fire two (2) <br />full years or who, in the judgment of the Director of Public <br />Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired ex- <br />perience in the division of fire in some other city. Group <br />2 firemen shall consist of firemen who have served continu- <br />ously in the Division of Fire for more than one (1) year but <br />less than two (2) years. Group 3 firemen shall consist of <br />firemen who have served in the Division of Fire for less than <br />one (1) year° Provided, however, that there shall be no in- <br />crease in salary to a fireman by reason of said grouping until <br />certified by the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br /> Section 3. In the Division of Police, Department of <br />Public Safety, Group 1 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen <br />who have continuously served in the Div~ ion of Police two <br />(2) full years, or who, in the judgment of the Director of <br />Public Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired <br />experience in the division of policein some other city. Group <br />2 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have served continu- <br />ously in the Division of Police for more than one (1) year but <br />less than two (2) years. Group 3 patrolmen shall consist of <br />patrolmen who have served in the Division of Police for less <br />than one (1) year. Provided, however, that there shall be no <br />increase in salary to any employee by reason of the said group- <br />ing until certified by the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br /> Section 4° Whenever the term "Class A", "Class B" and <br />"Class C" is used in this ordinance, such classification <br />shall be determined and fixed by the appointing authority. <br /> <br /> Section 5. Ail compensation provided for herein shall <br />be paid in equal, semi-monthly inst~ lments or in equal in, <br />stallments every two (2) weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 6. That this ordinance is hereby declared to <br />be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by <br />the Mayor, and Ordinance No. 32-64, adopted March 16, 1964, <br />and Ordinance No. 70-64, adopted July 20, 1964, and all other <br />ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith, shall <br />be and are hereby ~epealed. <br /> <br />Adopted:..
