ORDINANCE NO. 10-65 BY: Messrs. Usher, Ward, Bennett~ Cain, Gaydos, Huffman. AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor, as Direc~0r of Public Safety, to designate a member of the Division of Police in the Department of Public Safety to attend a Polygraph Course in Chicago, Illinois and to ex- pand a sum of not to exceed $1,150o00 therefor. WHEREAS, In order to maintain the high standards of efficiency of the Lakewood Division of Police, it is deemed necessary to train another member of such Division in the operation of a polygraph, and, WHEREAS, This ordinance constitues an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1o That the Mayor, as Director of Public Safety, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to designate a member of the Division of Police in the Depart-- ment of Public Safety to attend the Keeler Polygraph Institute in Chicago, Illinois for a periOd of six ~eeks. Section 2o That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized to expend a sum of not to exceed $1,150.00 to cover the cost of tuition, transportation and living ex- penses for the member of the Division of Police designated to attend said institute. Such a sum shall he payable from the General Fund - ~DIvision of Police. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the pre- amble hereof, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor~ Adopted: Februar John Gaydos, Jr..
