An employee holding a position~in any of the above <br />classifications may from time to time be assigned to work in a higher classi- <br />fication, and such employee shall receive for such temporary work the com- <br />pensation provided herein for such higher classification~ Such additional <br />compensation shall not be paid to Building Maintenance Men, whose hourly <br />rate includes performance of all work assigned. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Whenever the terms "Class A," "Class B" and "Class <br />are used in this Ordinance, such classifications shall be determined by the <br />appointing authority on the basis of experience and performance. <br /> <br /> Section 4. The Director of Public Works may appoint such addi- <br />tional hourly employees in the several divisions as may be required from <br />time to time on a temporary basis, at the rate of compensation fixed herein <br />for said classification. Provided, however, that such temporary employees <br />provided for herein, shall be classed as temporary and shall not be eligible <br />for the benefits provided in Sections 143.01 to 143.08, both inclusive, of <br />the Codified Ordinances, for full-time permanent houmly employees. <br /> <br /> Section 5. All compensation provided for herein Shall be paid in <br />equal semi-monthly installments or in equal installments every two weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 6.
