ORDINANCE NO. 71-66 BY: Usher, Ward, Wendling, Cain, <br /> Gaydos, Huffman, Kelley <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fi×ing the compensation of the Clerk, <br />directing the time and method of payment of his other employees of the <br />LakewooH Municipal Court, and repealing Ordinance No. 9-66 adopted <br />February 7, 1966. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Sections 1901.1 to <br />1901.38, inclusive, effective October 1, 195~, fixed the compensation of <br />the Judge, provided that the compensation of the Bailiff and Deputy Bailiffs <br />shall be as prescribed by the Court, and that the compensation of the Deputy <br />Clerks shall be prescribed by the Clerk, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Act further provides that the compensation of the <br />Judlge, Clerk and Bailiff shall be paid three-fifths from the City Treasury <br />and two-fifths from the Treasury of the County in which the city is located~ <br />and~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure p~oviding <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the <br />interest of public service, ~;elfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the <br />compensation of the Clerk and direct the time and method of payment of his <br />other employees of the Lakewood ~unicipal Court; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED By THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court is hereby fixed at $10,300 per annum commencing 0e~ob~~9~. <br />1966. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood is <br />hereby authorized and directed to pay three~f~fthm of the con~ensmtion of <br />the Judge, three-f~fths of the compen.etiOn Of the Clerk as herein fixed~ <br />three-fifths of the compensation of the Bailiff and all compensation of the <br />Deputy Bailiffs as shall be prescribed by the Judge, all compensation of <br />the Deputy Clerks as shall be prescribed by the Clerk, from the City <br />TreaBury in semi-monthly installments or in equal installments every two <br />weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it re- <br />ceives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and <br />approval by the Mayor, and Ordinance No. 9-66, adopted February 7, 1966, and <br />all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith, shall be <br />and are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Mayo~: <br /> <br /> <br />
