ORDINANCE NO o 39-67 BY: Messrs. Cain, Gaydos~ Hurrman, Kelley, Ward, Wend~ag AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing settlement of the claim of Gladys Sheets (formerly known as Gladys Liska), in the total amount of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00)~ arising out of an accident when she fell on a sidewalk at 1436 Woodward Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, on January 23, 1962. WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency in that it may save the City from further expense and a possible substantial jury verdict rendered against the City and in that it provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA~EWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That settlement of the claim of Gladys Sheets (formerly known as Gladys Liska), in the amount of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) is hereby ordered and authorized, conditioned upon the execution and delivery by Gladys Sheets (formerly known as Gladys Liska) of a full release in favor of the City of Lakewood, duly approved by the Director of Law. Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized to pay the sum of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) to Gladys Sheets (formerly known as Gladys Liska) upon delivery to the Director of Finance of the foregoing release duly executed and approved; and to charge the same to the general fund - damages paid by the City. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor° Adopted: June 19, 1967 President Approved:.
