ORDINANCE NO o 39-67 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Cain, Gaydos~ Hurrman, <br /> Kelley, Ward, Wend~ag <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing settlement of <br />the claim of Gladys Sheets (formerly known as Gladys Liska), in <br />the total amount of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00)~ arising out of <br />an accident when she fell on a sidewalk at 1436 Woodward Avenue, <br />Lakewood, Ohio, on January 23, 1962. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency <br />in that it may save the City from further expense and a possible <br />substantial jury verdict rendered against the City and in that it <br />provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LA~EWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That settlement of the claim of <br />Gladys Sheets (formerly known as Gladys Liska), in the amount of <br />Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) is hereby ordered and authorized, <br />conditioned upon the execution and delivery by Gladys Sheets <br />(formerly known as Gladys Liska) of a full release in favor of the <br />City of Lakewood, duly approved by the Director of Law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he <br />is hereby authorized to pay the sum of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) <br />to Gladys Sheets (formerly known as Gladys Liska) upon delivery to <br />the Director of Finance of the foregoing release duly executed <br />and approved; and to charge the same to the general fund - damages <br />paid by the City. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor° <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />June 19, 1967 <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Approved:. <br /> <br />June 19, 1967 <br /> <br />Grace Revno.l.d $ <br /> Clerk <br /> <br />Robert M.
