Usher: Ward~ Wendling, <br /> Cain~ Gaydos, }Iuffman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE gzving the consent of the City <br />of Lakewoo~ to Cuyahoga County,Ohio for the zmprovement of West <br />ll7th Street (Highland Avenue) from Lake Avenue to Madison Avenue <br />in the City of Lakewood~ by resurfacing the existing pavement with <br />new nine (9) inch concrete pavement at an estimated cost of <br />Fifty-Seven Thouss. nd Five Hundred Dollars° ($57~500o00% <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ The Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga <br />County aas ~entatively approved a program of road construction <br />and improvement for the year 1968~ and~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ One of the projects propose~ to be improved <br />are the city street and also the county road known as Wo ll7th <br />Street (Highland Avenue) in the City of Lakewood~ and~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes 5D emerqency <br />measure in that it provides for the immediate preservation of <br />the public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily <br />operation of a municipal department; now, therefore~ <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1o That it is declared to be in the public <br />interest that the consent of the City of Lakewood be and such con- <br />sent is hereby given to Cuyahoga County to improve West ll7th <br />Street (Highland Avenue) between Lake Avenue and Madison Avenue <br />by resurfacing same subject~ however~ to the terms and conditions <br />of an agreement with respect thereto to be entered into between <br />Cuyahoga County~ Ohio and the City of Lake%voodo <br /> <br /> Section 2o It is hereby declared that the improvement <br />aforesaid is of sufficient public importance to the City and that <br />said City is financially able to contribute fifty percent (50%) <br />toward the cost thereof. <br /> <br /> Section 3o That the Clerk of Council be and she is <br />hereby directed to furnish to the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Cuyahoga County~ a certified copy of this ordinance immediately <br />upon the taking effect thereof. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance Ls ~ueby declared to <br />be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Couneii, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />July 17~ 1967 <br /> <br />Charles S.
