An employee holding a position in any of the above classifications may from time to time be assigned to work in a higher classification, and such employee shall receive for such temporary work the compensation provided herein for such higher classification. Such additional compensation shall not be paid to Building Maintenance Men, whose hourly rate includes performance of all work assigned. Section 3. Whenever the terms "Class AD" "Class B" and "Class C" are used in this ordinance, such classifications shall be determined by the appointing authority on the basis of experience and performance. Section 4. The Director of Public Works may appoint such addi- tional hourly employees in the several divisio[~ as may be required fram time to time on a temporary basis~ at th~ rate of compensation fixed herein for said classification. Provided, however, that such temporary employees provided for herein, shell he classed as temporary and shall not be eligible for the benefits provided in Sections 143.01 to 143.08, both inclusiYe~ of the Codified Ordinances, for full-time per~anent hourly employees. Section 5. All compensation provided for herein shall be paid in equal installments every two weeks. Section 6. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof~ and pro- vided it receives the alfir~ative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council~ it shall take ef~ec~ and be in force irm~ediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, and Ordinance No. 67-66 adopted October 3~ 1966 and el~. other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent here with shall be and are hereby repealed.
