ORDINANCE NO. 51-67 BY: Messrs. Kelley, Usher, Ward, Wendling, Gaydos, Huffman AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixmng the compensation of the Clerk, directing the time and method of payment of his other employees of the Lakewood Municipal Court and repealing Ordinance No. 71-76, adopted October 3, 1966. WHEREAS, The Municmpal Court Act, Revised Code Sections 1901ol to 1901.38, mnclusive~ effective October 1~ 1953, fixed the compensation of the Judge, provided that the compensation of the Bailiff and Deputy Bailiffs shall be as prescribed by the Court, and that the compensation of the Deputy Clerks shall be prescrmbed by the Clerk, and, WHEREAS, Said Act further provmdes that the compensa- tion of the Judge, Clerk and Dailmff shall De paid three-fifths from the City Treasury and two-fifths from the Treasury of the County in which the city is located, and, WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a munmcipal department in that in the interest of public servmce~ welfare and safety~ it is necessary to fix the compensation of the Cler and direct the time and method of payment of his other employee of the Lakewood Municipal Court~ now~ therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood Municipal Court is hereby fixed at $10~$00o00 per annum commencing August 27, 1967. Section 2. That the Dmrector of Finance of the City of Lakewood Ks hereby authorized and directed to pay three- fifths of the compensation of the Judge, three-fifths of the compensation of the Clerk as herein fixed, three-fifths of the compensation of the Bailiff and all compensation of the Deputy Bailiffs as shall be prescribed by the Judge, all compensation of the Deputy Clerks as shall be prescribed by the Clerk, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly installments or in equal installments every two weeks. Section 3o This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated ~n the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor and Ordinance No.71-76, adopted October 3~ 1966, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith, shall be an~ are hereby repealed.
