ORDINANCE NO. 51-67 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Kelley, Usher, Ward, <br /> Wendling, Gaydos, Huffman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixmng the compensation of <br />the Clerk, directing the time and method of payment of his <br />other employees of the Lakewood Municipal Court and repealing <br />Ordinance No. 71-76, adopted October 3, 1966. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Municmpal Court Act, Revised Code <br />Sections 1901ol to 1901.38, mnclusive~ effective October 1~ <br />1953, fixed the compensation of the Judge, provided that <br />the compensation of the Bailiff and Deputy Bailiffs shall <br />be as prescribed by the Court, and that the compensation of the <br />Deputy Clerks shall be prescrmbed by the Clerk, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Said Act further provmdes that the compensa- <br />tion of the Judge, Clerk and Dailmff shall De paid three-fifths <br />from the City Treasury and two-fifths from the Treasury of the <br />County in which the city is located, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency <br />measure providing for the usual daily operation of a munmcipal <br />department in that in the interest of public servmce~ welfare <br />and safety~ it is necessary to fix the compensation of the Cler <br />and direct the time and method of payment of his other employee <br />of the Lakewood Municipal Court~ now~ therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the compensation of the Clerk of the <br />Lakewood Municipal Court is hereby fixed at $10~$00o00 per <br />annum commencing August 27, 1967. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Dmrector of Finance of the City <br />of Lakewood Ks hereby authorized and directed to pay three- <br />fifths of the compensation of the Judge, three-fifths of the <br />compensation of the Clerk as herein fixed, three-fifths of the <br />compensation of the Bailiff and all compensation of the Deputy <br />Bailiffs as shall be prescribed by the Judge, all compensation <br />of the Deputy Clerks as shall be prescribed by the Clerk, from <br />the City Treasury in semi-monthly installments or in equal <br />installments every two weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 3o This ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure for the reasons stated ~n the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by <br />the Mayor and Ordinance No.71-76, adopted October 3~ 1966, and <br />all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent <br />herewith, shall be an~ are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: AUS 9~ <br /> <br /> AUG 2 <br /> <br /> ~ayor <br /> <br />~pproved <br /> <br /> <br />
