DESICNATtON OF MAYOP. TO SUPERV%SE URB~ ~EWEWAL <br /> AND URBAM EEDEVELOPF~NT ACTIVITIES <br /> <br /> The Mayor of the City be and he is hereby charged with the responsi- <br />bility of supervising the Urban ~enewal and Urban Redevelopment activities of <br />this City, coordinating the activities of the other officers, employees, com- <br />missions and boards concerned with such projects and executing on behalf of <br />the City, as its authorized representative, all applications to the ~ederal <br />Government for'grants, loans and advances. <br /> <br />Section 5. PP~PA~ATIO~'~ OF GE~]ERAL NEIGHBORHOOD RENEWAL~ URBAN <br /> P~ENEWAL OR URBAN REDEVELOPMENT STUDIES AND PLANS <br /> <br /> (a) Upon the recommendation of the Mayor and approval by the Clty <br />Planning Commission and, when required by the City Charter, the C~ncil~ the <br />~ayor shall enter into such contracts on behalf of the City with e~gine~s, <br />architects and other professional services as may.be necessary to ptovide <br />the n~cessary inspections, studies, plans, surveys and reports in Connectio~ <br />with fhe preparation of the General Neighborhood Renewal Plan, and in ~o~nec~ion <br />with the Urban ~enewal or Fedevelopment activities to be undertaken by the City <br />to the extent that funds have been appropriated therefore. The Planning C~m- <br />mission may itself conduct such inspections, stU~ies~ plans, surve~ and ~eports. <br /> <br /> (b) When studies, plans, surveys or reports pursuant to subparagraph <br />(a) above have been prepared, they shall be submitted to the Council and filed <br />as provided from time to time. <br /> <br />Section 6. CONTENTS OF UpB~ ~ENEWA~ 0R U~BA~] REDEVELOMMENT PLAN <br /> ~D RELOCATIO~ PLAN, OE SUPPORTING DOCUb~NTATiON <br /> <br /> (a) Any Urban Renewal or Redevelopment Plan hereafter prepared shall <br />be prepared in such detail as to clearly set forth sufficient information to <br />permit the Planning Commission to render its approval er disapproval thereof <br />and in any event such plans shall include, but not be limited to, the following: <br /> <br />(1) A description of the boundaries of the project area; <br /> <br /> (2) A land-use plan showing the location, character and extent <br />of public and private land ownership, utilities, use and occupancy <br />proposed within the area; <br /> <br /> (3) A delineation of areas of land acquisition, demolition and <br />removal of structures, or of rehabilitation, conservation or recon- <br />ditioning of existing structures, if any, as may be proposed to be <br />carried out in the project area; <br /> <br /> (4) A statement indicating the controls and the use, development <br />and building restrictions to be placed on the property in the project <br />area to prevent a recurrence of blighted conditions; <br /> <br />and, in addition thereto, such plan or its supporting documentation shall in- <br />clude~ but shall not be limited to, the following: <br /> <br /> ~5) A report showing the proposed changes, if any, in the building, <br />housing or zoning ordinances or maps and street layout, levels or grades; <br /> <br /> f6) A statement from the appropriate City official or officials <br />setting forth the capability of the City to finance the portion of the <br />project costs to be contributed by the City; <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br /> <br />
