Service ~-" .z~ ~ _ ~,~ D.~.nner for the recognition of loyal and. faithful service o~!. ~-~"'~ ' ~ ~ ..... .p~r,.. ,'.~f employees of the City of Lakewood,. ~t~;RE~S Long and. faithful service by City employees J.~..~c~'¢eDses efficiency of municipal services mhd establishes R ct3atJ.nuJ, ty of eraployment whick,, is of benefit to the entire ccn~nunihy, an.d, WHEREAS, Such service s'hould be recognized in a fitting and proper manner as an expression of gratitude from the citizens of Lakewood to t'he employees of the City~ and~ %~HEREAS0 Such recognition will result in. higher morale and dedication on the part of said employees, and, WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of municipal departments; now, ~erefore~ DE lit ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IJAKEWOOD~ ST~TF OF OHIO: Section !o That an Annu~l Service Award Dinner shall be held by the City of Lakewood in honor of employees who have worked for the City of Lakewood (excluding Lakewood Hospital employees) for periods of 5 years~ 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years and additional periods of 5 ~'ears each~ Section 2. That each such employee shall be given a suitable service award pin, emblem, or other insignia in recog- nition of his or her term of service. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council~ it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
