ORDINANCE NO. 25-69 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Gaydos, Graber, Huffman, <br />Kelley, Usher, Ward, <br /> <br />A~ EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 133.02 of the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to <br />the commissioning of private policemen. <br /> <br />W~EREAS, the Police Department expends a great deal of time and energy <br />in investigating applicants for a private police commission and that <br />the cost of this inquiry has been greatly, increased since this section <br />was originally enacted ; and <br /> <br />W~EREAS this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual daily operation of municipal departments and.for the im- <br />mediate protection of the public health and safety and welfare; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY' OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Section 133.02 of the Administrative Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 133.02 PRIVATE POLICE BOND'; ANNUAL FEE <br /> <br />"Any private police~nan commissioned as herein provided shall <br />give bond to the City, executed by a bonding company authorized <br />by the laws of the State, in the sum of one thousand dollars <br />($1,000) to the satisfaction of the Director of Law, and shall <br />pay an annual fee in the sum.of one dollar ($1.00)" <br /> <br />shall be, and it is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 133.02 PRIVATE POLICE BOND; ANAK3AL FEE <br /> <br />Any private policeman commissioned as herein provided shall <br />give bond to the City, executed by a bonding company authorized <br />by the laws of the State, in the sum of one thousand dollars <br />($1,000) to the satisfaction of the iDirector of Law, and shall <br />pay a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) for the first issuance <br />of said commission and an annual fee of ten dollars ($10) <br />thereafter. Each commission shall expire one year after the <br />date of issue. <br /> <br />Section 2. 'That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected <br />to Council, it shall be in force immediately upon its adoption and <br /> <br />approval, by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Vice President' <br /> <br />~opted: <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
