In the Division of Fire, Department of Public Safety, Group 1 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have continuously served in the Division of Fire two (2) full years or who, in the judgment of the Director of Public Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division of Fire in some other city. Group 2 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have served continuously in the Division of Fire for more than one (1) year but less than two (2) years. Group 3 firemen shall consist of firemen who have served in the Division of Fire for less than one (1) year. Provided, however, that there shall be no increase in salary to a fireman by reason of said grouping until certified by the Director of Public Safety. Section 3. In the Division of Police, Department of Public Safety, Group 1 patrolmen shall consist or.patrolmen who have continuously served in the Division of Police two (2) full years or who, in the judgment of the Director of Public Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division of Police in some other city. Group 2 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have served continuously in the Division of Police for more than one (1) year but less than two (2) years. Group 3 patrolmen shall con- sist of patrolmen, who have served in the Division of Police for less than one (1) year. Provided, however, that there shall be no increase in salary to any employee by reason of the said grouping until certified by the Director of Public Safety. Section 4. Salary of the Director of Law shall cover all ordinary services, including legal advice and opinions as requested by Council, the Mayor, and various departments, the drafting of ordinances and resolutions, attendance at Council meetings and the administration and supervision of the Law Department. The Law Director and Assistant Law Director shall receive additional pro- fessional fees for the handling of any litigation involving the City of Lakewood, or other extraordinary services, such fees not to exceed the minimum fees prescribed by the minimum fee schedule of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association. Section 5. Whenever the term "Class A," "Class B," "Class C," Class D," "Class E," and "Class F" is used in this ordinance, such classification shall be determined and fixed by the appointing authority. Section 6. Ail compenation provided for herein shall be paid in equal installments every two (2) weeks.
