ORDINANCE NO. 66-69 <br /> <br />BY:Messrs. Wend]ing, Gaydos, Graber, <br /> Huffman, Kelley, Usher, Ward <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by <br />enacting new Section 137.08, to provide for the payment of tuition <br />for college courses taken by members of the Division of Fire, with <br />the approval of the Chief of the Division of Fire. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for~the usual daily operation of a municipal <br />department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Administrative Code of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be and the same is hereby <br />supplemented by enacting new Section 137.08, to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 137.08 Education; Tuition. <br /> <br />With the approval of the Chief of the Division of Fire, <br />members of the Division of Fire may take accredited <br />college courses relating to fire fighting and fire <br />prevention. Members shall be reimbursed full tuition <br />expenses by the City provided, however, that such <br />member shall receive a grade of "C" or the equivalent, <br />upon completion of each course for which reimbursement <br />is requested. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayo~. <br /> <br /> / ~ P~ sident <br /> --~ ~~Cl erk <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
