<br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE declarling the intention of Council
<br />to terminate the agreement, dated June 1,1965, between th~ Board
<br />of County Commissioners of CuyahOga County, Ohio and the (~ity of
<br />Lakewood for installation and maintenance of a Police Tel~type
<br />System, and authorizing and directing the Mayor, ex offici~ Director
<br />of Public Safety, to give the Board of County Commissioners of
<br />Cuyahoga County, Ohio, written notice of said intention t~ term-
<br />inate as provided in said agreement. · '

<br /> WHEREAS, effective June 1, 1965, the City of Lakewood
<br />entered into an agreement with the Board of County Commissioners
<br />of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, for the installation and maintenance of
<br />a Police Teletype System, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County CommiSsioners of Cuyahoga
<br />County, Ohio, has advised the City that the annual billing for
<br />each member is to be substantially increased, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, all of the information formerly submitted by
<br />teletype is now entered into the computer network, and this service,
<br />therefore, no longer needed, and /
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, %he terms of the aforesaid agreement are to con-
<br />tinue in full force and effect unless terminated by either party
<br />upon sixty (60) days written notice to the other party of an in-
<br />tention to terminate; now, therefore,
<br />
<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD,
<br />STATE OF OHIO:

<br /> Section 1o That it is deemed in the best interest of the
<br />~ity and is hereby declared to be the intention of this Council to
<br />terminate the agreement, dated June 1~ 1965, between the Board of
<br />County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and the City of
<br />Lakewood for installation and maintenance of a Police Teletype
<br />System.

<br /> Section 2. That the Mayor, ex officio Director of Public
<br />Safety, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to give notice
<br />to the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, of
<br />the intention of the City of Lakewood to terminate the agreement
<br />between the Board of CoUnty Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, Ohio,
<br />and the City of Lakewood, and that the Mayor be, and he is hereby
<br />further authorized and directed to do all things necessary to
<br />terminate said agreement at the earliest possible time in accord-
<br />ance with the terms of said agreement..
<br />
<br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be
<br />an emergency measure, for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof
<br />and providing it receives the affirmative-'vote of two-thirds'of
<br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in
<br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
