ORDINANCE NO. 62-71 BY: Messrs. Kelley, Usher, <br /> Wendling, Gaydos, Graber, <br /> Huffman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 149.08 (b) (i) of the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to vacations for <br />members of the Division of Fire of the City of Lakewood effective and commencing <br />May 30, 1971. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHI0: <br /> <br /> Section 1o That Section 149.08 (b) (i) of the Administrative Code of <br />the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.08 VACATIONS. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Vacation time shall be earned in one calendar year and taken in a <br />subsequent calendar year and shall be prorated in accordance with <br />the table set forth in subsection (a)above, provided, however: <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Fire who have completed ten (10) years <br />of service by June 1 of any given year shall be entitled to three <br />(3) weeks' vacation in that year and all subsequent years of em- <br />ployment. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.08 VACATIONS. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Vacation time shall be earned in one calendar year and taken in a <br />subsequent calendar year and shall be prorated in accordance with <br />the table set forth in subsection (a) above, provided, however: <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Fire who have completed ten (10) years <br />of service by June 1 of any given year shall be entitled to three <br />(3) weeks' vacation in that year and all subsequent years of em- <br />ployment, provided further that all full-time permanent members of <br />said division who have completed fifteen (15) years of service by <br />June 1 of any given year shall be entitled to four weeks' vacation <br />in that year and all subsequent years of employment° <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and pr~:ided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, and is approved <br />by the Mayor, it shall take effect and be in force as of May 30, 1971 <br />and existing Section 149.08 (b) (i), adopted March 1, 1971, is hereby repealed° <br /> <br />Adopted: L <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />President <br /> / <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
