Kelley, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> Usher, Wendling, Brockman, Graber, . <br /> <br /> AN Kb~RGENCY ORDINAl:CE to amend Table 6lA of Section 1661.02 in Chapter 6! <br />of the Building Code of the City of Lakewood to require wet standpipe systems in <br />Residential-Class A blultiple Dwellings, and to require standpipe systems in certain <br />other occupancies, in buildings hereinafter erected which are more than 50 feet and <br />more than one story in height and to enact new Section 1661.021 of said Building <br />Code of the City of Lakewood relating to existing dry systems in Residential-Class A <br />Multiple'Dwellings. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br /> immediate protection of public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily <br /> operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY TttE COUNCIL OF THE CI%~ OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Table 6lA of Section 1661.02 in Chapter 61 of the Building <br />Code of the City of Lakewood be and the same is hereby amended'so as to provide for <br />the ins'tallation of wet standpipe systems in all Residential-Class A Multiple ~el- <br />lings, and to require standpipe systems in certain other occupancies, in buildings <br />hereinafter erected which are more than 50 feet and more than one story in height, <br />said Table 6lA to be in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Building Code of the City of Lakewood and the same is <br />hereby supplemented by enacting new Section 1661.021 in Chapter 61 to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 1661.021 EXISTING DRY SYSTEHS. <br /> <br />Within one year of the effective date of the adoption of new Table 6lA <br />as amended, existing dry standpipe systems in Residential-Class A Multiple <br />Dwellings which exceed 55 feet in height shall be filled with water and <br />protected against freezing in such manner' as shall be approved by the <br />Fire Department. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor and all parts <br />of existing Table 6lA in'consistent herewith, are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Cler. k <br /> <br />Hay-or <br /> <br /> <br />
