ORDINANCE NO. 9-72 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs, Kelley, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> Usher, Wendling, Brockman, Graber <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE creating positions and fixing the compensation of <br />certain hourly employees in the several departments and divisions of the <br />City of Lakewood commencing February 6, 1972. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the interest of <br />public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensation <br />of employees; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE-IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 1AKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Positions are hereby created and the compensation of certain <br />hourly employees in the several departments and divisions of the City of <br />Lakewood are hereby fixed as follows, commencing February 6, 1972. <br /> <br />Group II <br /> <br />Foremen -. Class AA <br /> <br />$ 4.78 per hour <br /> <br />Group III <br /> <br />Foreman - Class A <br />Traffic Signal Foreman <br /> <br />4.64 per hour <br />4.64 per hour <br /> <br />Section 2. An employee holding a position in any of the above Classifications <br />may from time to time be assigned to work in a higher classification, and <br />such ~mployee shall receive for such temporary work the compensation provided <br />herein for such higher classification. <br /> <br />Section 3. The Director of Public Works may appoint such additional hourly <br />employees in the several divisions as may be required from time to time on a <br />temporary basis, at the rate of compensation fixed herein for said classifica- <br />tion. Provided however, that such temporary employees provided for herein, <br />· ..shall be classed as temporary and shall not be eligible for the benefits <br />provided in Sections 149.01 to 149.08, both inclusive, of the Codified <br />Ordinances, for full-time permanent hourly employees. <br /> <br />Section 4. Ail compensation provided for herein shall be paid in equal <br />installments every two weeks. <br /> <br />Section 5. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by <br />the Mayor, and all other parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby <br />repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted t ? ×?z <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
