be ORDINANCE NO. 47-72 Messrs. Graber, Kelley, Magnol McBride, Usher, Wendling, Brockman AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 905.07 of the Streets and Public Services Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood amending the rules and regulations for the parks of the City by prohibiting dogs or other animals within theparks. WHEREAS, over the years there has been a continual increase in the'~e of the public parks within the City by the general public,and WHEREAS, the City encourages the use of its public parks by the citizens of the community and particularly the children for recreational use and enjoyment, and WHEREAS, the permitting of dogs or other animals within the parks, whether leash~ or unleashed, results in a detriment to said enjoyment,in that nuisance conditions invariably and frequently result, and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency 'measure for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF'LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That existing Section 905.07 of the Streets and Public Services Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows: 905.07 ANIMALS. (a) Hitching Animals. No person shall hitch horses or.other animals to any tree, shrub~ fence, railing or other structure except such as are provided for such purposes, or allow any animal to stand un- hitched or unleashed while the driver of attendant is beyond reach of such animal. (b) ~eashing Animals° No dogs or other animals shall be allowed within the parks except' on leash and any animal allowed to run at large shall be impounded.. No animal of any kind shall be allowed to enter any pond, fountain ~ stream within the parks. (c) ~olesting Animals. No person shall use any weapon, stick, stone or missile of any kind in the destruction or injury of or to, or in such manner as to disturb or molest, any wild or domestic fowl animal or fish properly within the park limits. ' and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 905.07 ANIMALS. (a) (b) Animals Prohibited° No dogs or other animals shall be allOwed within the parks. ~olesting Animals.
