ORDINANCE NO 60-72 ~: Messrs. Magnotto, <br /> · Usher, We~dling, B~ckm <br /> Graber, Kelley <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to provide for the'submission to the electorate <br />of an amendment to the Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood by amending Article <br />II Section 5 thereof and repealing Article XXII thereof pertaining to the salary <br />of the Mayor of the City of Lakewood. <br /> · MItEREAS, an emergency exists in that the charter amendment of Article II <br />Section 5 and the repeal of Article XXII is to be presented to the electorate of the <br />City of Lakewood at the general election to be held on November 7, 1972, and <br /> WHE~S, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, now, therefore, <br /> BE IT ORDINANED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO, <br />~tO-THIRDS OF ALL MEMMERS ELECTED THERETO ODNCURRING: <br /> Section 1. That th~ question of the amendment of Article II Section 5 <br /> and the repeal of ArticleXXII of rheA mended Charter of the City of Lakewood so <br /> that as amended the same shall be and read as follows: <br /> <br />"ARTICLE II Tile EXECUTIVE <br /> <br /> SECTION 5 SALARY OF THE MAYOR <br /> <br /> The salary of the Mayor shall be established by ordinance Of Council, <br /> provided that such ordinance must be adopted not less than thirty (30) <br /> days prior to the final date fixed by law for the filing of nominating <br /> petitions by candidates for the Office of Mayor for the term beginning <br /> on the next succeeding first day of January and such salary shall not <br /> be increased or decreased during such term. <br /> Such ordinance shall not be adopted or passed unless it has been read <br /> at three (3) separate regular council meetings, the second and third of <br /> such meetings not to be less than two (2) weeks subsequent to each prior <br /> meeting. <br /> <br /> Article XXII SALARY AND EMOLIF~NTS FOR THEMAYOR shall be and the same <br /> is hereby repealed." <br />be submitted to a vote of the qualified electors of the City at the general election <br />to be held on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1972 at the regular places of voting <br />in the City between the hours of 6:30 A.M. and 6:30 P.M. <br /> Section 2.
