Usher, Werner, Brockma~, Graber~ l~agnotto, McBride AN Eb~RGENCY ORDINANCE providing for the sale of the municipal street parking lot located north of Detroit Avenue between Belle Avenue and St. Charles Avenue in the City of Lakewood, Ohio. WHEREAS, in the adoption of Ordinance No. 31-72 on March 20, 1972, this Council determined that the off-street municipal parking lot located north of Detroit Avenue between Belle Avenue and St. Charles Avenue should be sold and that such sale would be in the best interest of this City, and WHEREAS, by said ordinance, this Council authorized the Director of Public Works to advertise for bids for the sale of the offistreet municipal parking lot located north of Detroit Avenue between Belle Avenue and St. Charles Avenue, and WHEREAS, t~e Director of Public Works did advertise for bids for the sale of said property and has advised this Council that the only bid received was from Lakewood Center North Building Associates in the amount of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) which was the minimum amount stipulated in the aforementioned ordinance and which bid meets all of the specifications and conditions as required by Ordinance No. 31-72~, and WHEREAS, This Council has determined to accept the bid of Lakewood Center North Building Associates as the highest and best bid, and WHEREAS, the buildings on the adjacent property to be used in conjunction with the subject property for the construction of a multi-story office building have been razed and the site constitutes a hazard to pedestrians and a nuisance not only to the residents in the immediate area but to all the citizens of Lakewood, which conditions should be eliminated immediately,and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for' the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is in the best interest of the City to sell the aforementioned parking lot immediately so that construction of the proposed multi-story office building may connnence without delay before the end of the current construction season, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE~4OOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1.
