Brockman, Graber, <br /> <br /> ~ Wend ling, Wer~r <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 135.09 ~f ~he A~ministrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to paF~ent on <br />account of unifo~s for members of the Division of Police. <br /> <br /> ~ ~ER~S, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the usual <br />daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY ~E CO~'CIL OF THE CITY OF ~KEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> ~ Section 1. That Section 135.09 of the Administrative Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood.now reading as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 135.09 ~IFO~f ALLOWANCE. <br /> <br /> In addition to the furnishing of the personal equipment mentioned <br />in Section 135.08 (b), the Director 0f Finance is authorized and <br />directed to pay from the General Fund[, Account No. 0192031 - Uniform, <br />the' sum of one hundred and twenty-five dollars ($125.00) semi-annually <br />to every active member of the Division of'Police as a uniform allowance. <br />Such sum of one-hundred and twenty-five dollars ($125.00) shall be <br />Payable on March 31, 1973 to every member of the Division of Police on <br />active duty as'of such date, and a like sum shall be paid to each <br />active member of the Division of Police at the end of e~ch succeeding <br />~emi-annual period thereafter. To each new active member of the Division <br />of Police, the Director of F~nance is authorized and directed to pay <br />upon the written request of such new member, a sum not to exceed two <br />hundred twent'y-five dollars ($225.00) as an advance upon the annual <br />uniform allowance of such member. Any' funds so advanced shall be <br />deducted from the next regularly occurring uniform allowance such <br />Such member is entitled to receive, until the entire amount of the <br />advance has been paid. Should any member leave the Division before <br />the amount of uniform allowance so advanced is due him, then he shall <br />immediately return such unearned allowance to the Department of Finance. <br />A new member of the Division who commences his employment on a date which <br />falls between determination dates as set forth herein shall receive a <br />portion of unifo~n allowance pro rated daily from date of employment. <br />A member of the Division terminating his employment on a date which <br />falls be~0een determination dates as set forth herein shall receive <br />that portion of uniform allowance to which he is entitled prorated <br />daily to the date of his termination. <br /> <br />A suitable uniform ~hall be furnished to each Police Cadet by the <br />Division of Police in lieu of a uniform allowance. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follo~s: <br /> <br />Section 135.09 UNIFORM ALLOWkNCE <br /> <br />In addition to the furnishing of the personal equipment mentioned <br />in Section 135.08 (b), the Director of Finance is authorized and <br />directed to pay from the General Fund, Account No. 0192031 - Uniform, <br />the sum of one hundred thirty-seven and 50/100 dollars ($137.50) semi- <br />annually to every active member of the Division of Police as a uni- <br />form allowance.
