Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra, <br /> Usher, Brockman, Chinnock Graber <br /> <br /> AN EP~RGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section ].35.11 of the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of l,akewood providing for payment <br />of overtime set,ices for members of the Division of Police, other than the <br />Chief of the Division of Police. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT OKDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE' OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 135.11 of the Administrative Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />135.11 Overtime Compensation. <br /> <br />In the event it is necessary to call back to duty a member of the <br />Division of Police while he is off duty or it is necessary for a <br />member of the Division of Police to remain on duty beyond his <br />regular working hours, such member of the Division of Police, <br />other than the Chief of the Division of Police, shall be entitled <br />to compensation for such overtime services, as hereinafter provided, <br />in the form of compensatory time off. <br /> <br />For each instance of such overtime service of one (1) hour or more, <br />such member shall receive compensatory time off. In the event such <br />call back to duty is necessitated by special emergency or disaster <br />conditions, time off shall be computed-at one and one-half times <br />the overtime actually worked, provided, however, that the allowance <br />of such additional cc~npensation shall be subject to the approval <br />of the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br />be and the same is ~ereby amended,.effective February 3, 1974, to read as follows: <br /> <br />135.11 Overtime Compensation. <br /> <br />In the event it is necessary.for a member of the Division of Police <br />to remain on duty b~yond his regular working hours or it is necessary <br />to call back to duty a member of the Division of Police or a member <br />of the Division of Police devotes 'off-duty time attending school or <br />Police training courses at the City's request or dircctJ, on, such <br />member of the Division of Police, other than the Chief of the Division <br />of Police, shall be entitled to compensat£on for~such overtime serv.ices <br />in the form of compensatory time off as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />For overtime services resulting from remaining on duty, compensatory <br />time off shall be computed as regular time. <br /> <br />For overtime services resulting from call back to duty or devoting <br />off-duty time attending school or police training courses at the <br />City's request or direction, compensatory time off shall be <br />computed at one and one-half times the overtime actually incurred. <br /> <br />(c) All. compensation in the form of compensatory time off shall be <br /> subject to the approval of the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br /> <br />
