ORDINANCE NO. 52-74 BY: Messrs. Chinnock, Graber, Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE creating the positions of and fixing salaries for school traffic guards and repealing Ordinance 8-71, adopted February 15, 1971. WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure in that it is deemed necessary by this Council in the interest of public service, welfare and safety that the position of and the compensation for school traffic guards be established, and and that this Ordinance provides for the usual daily opera- tion of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Se'ction 1. The rate of compensation for all persons employed as school traffic guards shall be and the same is hereby established as follows: (a) Employees with less than one year of continuous service as school traffic guards: (1) For performance of duty for both the morning and afternoon sessions dUring the regular school year -- $8.50 per day. (2) For performance of duty for only the morning session or the afternoon session during the regular school year in any one day -- $4.25 per day. (3) For performance of duty for the sessions during summer play school in any one day -- $5.25~per day. (b). Employees with one or more years of continuous service as school traffic guards: (1) (2) For performance of duty for both the morning and afternoon sessions during the regular school year -- $10o50 per day.
