Please substitute for Ordinance upon which action was deferred at meeting of June 17, 1974. ORDINANCE NO. 62-74 BY: Messrs. McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman, Chinnock, Graber, Magnotto AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director of Public Works to employ by contract the firm of Richard L. Bowen, AIA and Associates, Architects, to provide.Professional architectural services for th~ construction of a new Fire Department building, together with all of the necessary required facilities, which services shall include assistance in the final selection of the site and the preparation of constructio~ drawings, contract documents and specifications. WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to construct a new Fire Department building on a site in the general area of Clifton Boulevard near the eastern boundary of the City so as to provide better fire protection to that area of the City situated north Of the Norfolk & Western Railford tracks, and WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is necessary to employ the services of an architect in regard to the construction of said Fire Station, and WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare in that plans for the construction of said station should be commenced without delay; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized and directed to employ by contract the firm of Richard L. Bowen, AIA and Associates, 13121 Shaker Square, Cleveland, Ohio 44120 as the professional architects for the purpose of assisting in the selection of the site and preparing construction drawings, contract documents and specifications for the constr~ction of a new Fire Department building together with all of the required support facil- ities to be located in the general area of Clifton Boulevard near the eastern boundary of the City of Lakewood. Said contract shall be based upon the proposal submitted by the said Richard L. Bowen, AIA and Associates on June 26, 1974, designated Commission No. 01165PF, and shall provide for a fee to be computed in accordance with said proposal. Section 2..
