Please substitute for Ordinance <br />upon which action was deferred at <br />meeting of June 17, 1974. <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 62-74 BY: Messrs. McBride, Sinagra, Usher, <br /> Brockman, Chinnock, Graber, Magnotto <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director of <br />Public Works to employ by contract the firm of Richard L. Bowen, AIA and <br />Associates, Architects, to provide.Professional architectural services for <br />th~ construction of a new Fire Department building, together with all of <br />the necessary required facilities, which services shall include assistance <br />in the final selection of the site and the preparation of constructio~ <br />drawings, contract documents and specifications. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the best interest <br />of the City to construct a new Fire Department building on a site in the general <br />area of Clifton Boulevard near the eastern boundary of the City so as to provide <br />better fire protection to that area of the City situated north Of the Norfolk & <br />Western Railford tracks, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is necessary to employ <br />the services of an architect in regard to the construction of said Fire Station, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate <br />preservation of the public health, safety and welfare in that plans for the <br />construction of said station should be commenced without delay; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to employ by contract the firm of Richard L. Bowen, AIA <br />and Associates, 13121 Shaker Square, Cleveland, Ohio 44120 as the professional <br />architects for the purpose of assisting in the selection of the site and preparing <br />construction drawings, contract documents and specifications for the constr~ction <br />of a new Fire Department building together with all of the required support facil- <br />ities to be located in the general area of Clifton Boulevard near the eastern <br />boundary of the City of Lakewood. Said contract shall be based upon the proposal <br />submitted by the said Richard L. Bowen, AIA and Associates on June 26, 1974, <br />designated Commission No. 01165PF, and shall provide for a fee to be computed in <br />accordance with said proposal. <br /> <br /> Section 2.. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergenc <br />measure for the reasons~stated in the pre'mnbl~ereof and provided it receivesy <br />the affirmative vote of.two-thirds of all me~bers'~lected to Col~ci~, it~ shall <br />~ake effect and be in force immediately upo~ its a~Ption ~{~ ~pm~val by th~ <br /> <br />Adopted: vw~ /~ /~ I '~'~ ~ ~' <br /> ~ ~ ~ ...,I ~ Presid~t <br /> <br /> <br />
