A~IENDED JULY 15, ~3 ;4 ORDINANCE NO. 63-74 BY: Messrs. Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman, Chinnock, Graber AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement Chapter 121 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by enacting new paragrsph (g) of Section 121.15 and enacting new Se~tion 121.18 relating to duties of the Clerk of Council and reports from committees of Council. WHEREAS, this Council determines that committees to which matters have been referred should be required to report to the Council as a whole the status of the referral on a regular basis, and WHEREAS, this Council determines that the posting in Co~ncil chambers of the status of matters referred to committees would be of benefit~'~o the public in keeping informed on matters under consideration by this Council, and WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public welfare and for the further reason that such proposed changes are needed immediately for the proper operation of the affairs of Council; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That Section 121.15 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be supplemented by enacting new Paragraph (g) to resd as follows: 121.15 DUTIES OF THE CLERK OF COUNCIL (g) The Clerk shall provide each member of Council a summary of all matters referred to a co~nittee of Council and/or member of the Administration within a reasonable time following each regular Council meeting and shall post said summary list in the Council chambers prior to the next regular meeting of Council. Smid summary shall include the subject matter referred, the date of referral, the name and members of the committee and/or member of the Administration to which the matter has been referred, the author of the communication referred and a brief statement of the present status of such matter. Section 2. That Chapter 121 of tbe Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinance of the City of Lakewood be supplemented by enacting new Section 121.18 to read as follows: 121.18 REPORTS OF COMMITTEE The Committee to which any ordinance, resolution, petition or other matter has been referred for consideration shall report to the Council the status of such referral by the third next regular Council meeting from such reference and at each second subsequent regular meeting thereafter until final report. Such status report shall be given by the chairman of said committee and may be either oral or written. Section 3.
