<br />the City of Lakewood.

<br /> WIIEREAS. the City of Lakcwood ha.~ h,nd the matter of general revision
<br />· of the Housing Code before it for some time, and
<br />
<br /> WIIEREAS, thi.~ Co.ncil determines that It l~ in the be~t interest of the
<br /> C~ty to up-date said llousi~lg Code to incorporate therein changes which have been
<br /> developed since the enactment of the original ll~.sit~g C-cie nad to trnn~fer the
<br /> responsibility for the enforcement thereof to the Building Commissioner, and
<br />
<br /> WIIEREAS, this Ord[nance c~ttstitl~tem :m emr, rl~.ency measure provtdi, ng for
<br /> the ~ed[ate preservation of the public health, ~nfet'y and welfare m~d for the
<br /> further reason that there exists an f. mpcratlw, necessity for the earliest p,,bl[-

<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF Tile CiTY O~ I~KE~OOD, STATE OF OllIO:

<br /> Section 1. That-~ new lin,sing Code of tho City of Lakewood be and the
<br /> same is hereby approved, adopted and enacted as Ch:,pter 1305 - IIo.s[,g Code of
<br /> Tit[e [ of P~rt Thirteen of thc Iluilding.(;,de of thc (;odifi~.d Ordina,~ces of the
<br /> City of Imkewood, a copy of which i~ attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a
<br /> part hereof as if'fully rewritten herein.

<br />One book-form copy of the llousing Code shall be c~'rttf[cd ns correct by the Mayor
<br />and the Clerk of Cot, nell, alta'chad to this Ordinance as m' p:~rt hereof, and filed
<br />with the permanent ordinance records of the City of Lakewood.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. The cnnctment of said'new lh)~.i~u[ Co,l~ shall not be cot~strued
<br />to affect a right or liability accrued or incurred ,ndcr n~y [c;:~slative provision
<br />prior to the effective date of such enactmunt or ~ ~cti~,n or proceeding for the
<br />enforcement of ~,ch right or liability. St~ch ~act~n(,~t shall not be construed to
<br />relieve any person from punishment for an ncr cn,,,nittnd in violation of any such
<br />legislative provision nor to affect a proeecutton therefor.

<br /> Section 3. That Sections 1709.O1 thro,;~.h [709.45 inclusive of the
<br />Snnitary Code of thc Codified Ordinances of t. he City mr Lakuwood ah,all be and the
<br />same are hereby repealed as of the effective date of this pr~inance.

<br /> Section 6. That this Ordinance t.s hereby declared to be an emergency
<br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof m~d provided it receives
<br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members cie'clad to Council, it shall
