ORDINANCE NO. 80-74' <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. M~gnotto, McBride, Sinagra, <br /> Usher, Brockman, Chinnock <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 121.04 of the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of LJkewood to establish a Consumer <br />Protection Committee as a standing committee of Council. <br /> WHEREAS, on May 7, 1973 this Council approved the formation of a <br />committee to be known as the Consumer Protection Committee to consider legislative <br />means to protect hakewood consumers, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that the area of consumer protection <br /> is of vital concern to the citizens of the City of Lakewood and that said Consumer <br /> Protection Committee should be established as a standing cormnittee of the Council <br /> of the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> providing for the public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation <br /> of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section l. That Section 121.04 of the Administrative Code of the Codified <br /> Ordinances of the City of.Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />121.04 COMMITTEES <br /> <br />At no later than the first regular meeting of Council after its organiza- <br />tion, the President of Council shall appoint standing committees on the <br />following named subjects: <br /> <br /> (a) Finance; <br /> (b) Rules and Ordinances; <br /> (c) Utilities and Transportation; <br /> (d) Traffic and Safety; <br /> (e) Recreation and Juvenile Affairs; <br /> (f) City Property; <br /> (g) City Departments; <br /> (h) Hospital <br /> (i) Zoning and Plannihg; ~ <br /> (j) Commercial Development <br /> <br /> The President shall also appoint such other co,~ittees as he deems <br /> necessary for the efficient handling' of Council business. <br /> All Council Committees shall consist of two members of Council, unless <br /> otherwise determined by a vote of Council, except Finance, which shall <br /> consist of three members. The report of the chairman of any committee <br /> consisting of only two members shall be considered t~e majority report <br /> of that committee in every case. Minority reports may be filed by the <br /> nonassenting member.
