ORDINANCE NO. 80-74' BY: Messrs. M~gnotto, McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman, Chinnock AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 121.04 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of LJkewood to establish a Consumer Protection Committee as a standing committee of Council. WHEREAS, on May 7, 1973 this Council approved the formation of a committee to be known as the Consumer Protection Committee to consider legislative means to protect hakewood consumers, and WHEREAS, this Council determines that the area of consumer protection is of vital concern to the citizens of the City of Lakewood and that said Consumer Protection Committee should be established as a standing cormnittee of the Council of the City of Lakewood, and WHEREAS, this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure providing for the public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section l. That Section 121.04 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of.Lakewood now reading as follows: 121.04 COMMITTEES At no later than the first regular meeting of Council after its organiza- tion, the President of Council shall appoint standing committees on the following named subjects: (a) Finance; (b) Rules and Ordinances; (c) Utilities and Transportation; (d) Traffic and Safety; (e) Recreation and Juvenile Affairs; (f) City Property; (g) City Departments; (h) Hospital (i) Zoning and Plannihg; ~ (j) Commercial Development The President shall also appoint such other co,~ittees as he deems necessary for the efficient handling' of Council business. All Council Committees shall consist of two members of Council, unless otherwise determined by a vote of Council, except Finance, which shall consist of three members. The report of the chairman of any committee consisting of only two members shall be considered t~e majority report of that committee in every case. Minority reports may be filed by the nonassenting member.
