ORDINANCE NO. 65- 75 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra, <br /> Usher, Brockman, Chinnock, Graber <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE establishing an annual awards banquet for <br />members of the Lakewood Auxiliary Police. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, all members of the Lakewood Auxiliary Police voluntarily <br />serve this City by devotingin excess of 7,000 hour's annually without compen- <br />sation in assisting the Lakewood Police Department, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such service includes untold hours of duty at civic functions <br />and gatherings, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the service of all members of the Lakewood Auxiliary'Police <br />should be recognized annually in a proper and fitting manner as an expression <br />of gratitude from the citizens of the City. of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That an annual awards banquet shall be held by the City <br />of Lakewood in honor of all members of the Lakewood Auxiliary Police. <br /> <br /> Section 2. A suitable service award may be presented for longevity of <br />service, hours devoted to duty, or in recognition of such other meritorious service <br />as shall be deemed appropriate by the Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the funds required for the purposes set forth in <br />Sections 1 and 2 of the within Ordinance shall be paid from the General Fund- <br />General Administration. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />Mayor~ ~take effect~f/~~and be in force immediately upon its ~s~l/~ ~n and ap~pr~l~by.~ the . <br />Adopted:. ~-~, /~ ~-- , / <br /> ent <br /> <br /> <br />
