ORDINANCE NO. 65- 75 BY: Messrs. Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman, Chinnock, Graber AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE establishing an annual awards banquet for members of the Lakewood Auxiliary Police. WHEREAS, all members of the Lakewood Auxiliary Police voluntarily serve this City by devotingin excess of 7,000 hour's annually without compen- sation in assisting the Lakewood Police Department, and WHEREAS, such service includes untold hours of duty at civic functions and gatherings, and WHEREAS, the service of all members of the Lakewood Auxiliary'Police should be recognized annually in a proper and fitting manner as an expression of gratitude from the citizens of the City. of Lakewood, and WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That an annual awards banquet shall be held by the City of Lakewood in honor of all members of the Lakewood Auxiliary Police. Section 2. A suitable service award may be presented for longevity of service, hours devoted to duty, or in recognition of such other meritorious service as shall be deemed appropriate by the Chief of Police. Section 3. That the funds required for the purposes set forth in Sections 1 and 2 of the within Ordinance shall be paid from the General Fund- General Administration. Section 4. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall Mayor~ ~take effect~f/~~and be in force immediately upon its ~s~l/~ ~n and ap~pr~l~by.~ the .
