- 4- <br /> <br />Section 2. In the Division of Fire, Department of Public Safety, Group t Firemen <br />shall consist of firemen who have continuously served in the Division of Fire two <br />(2) full years or who, in the judgment of the Director of Public Safety, have <br />acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division of Fire in <br />some other city. Group 2 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have served contin- <br />uously in the Division of Fire for more than one (1) year but less than two (2) <br />years. Group 3 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have served in the Division <br />of Fire for less than one (1) year. Provided, however, that there shall be no <br />increase in salary to a fireman by reason of said grouping until certified by <br />the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br />Section 3. In the Division of Police, Department of Public Safety, Group 1 <br />patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have continuously served in the Division <br />of Police two (2) full years or who, in the judgment of the Director of Public <br />Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division <br />of Police in some other city. Group 2 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who <br />have served continuously in the Division of Police for more than one (1) year <br />but less than two (2) years. Group 3 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who <br />have served in the Division of Police for less than one (1) year. Provided, how- <br />ever, that there shall be no increase in salary to any employee by reason of the <br />said grouping until certified by the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br />Section 4. Salary of the Director of Law shall cover all ordinary service, <br />including legal advice and opinions as requested by Council, the Mayor, and <br />various departments, the drafting of ordinances and resolutions, attendance at <br />Council meetings and the administration and supervision of the Law Department. <br />The Law Directors and Prosecutors shall receive additional professional fees <br />for the handling of any litigation involving the City of Lakewood, or other <br />extraordinary services, such fees not to exceed the minimum fees prescribed <br />by the minimum fee schedule of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association. <br /> <br />Section 5. Whenever the term "Class A", "Class B", "Class C", "Class D", <br />"Class E",, and "Class F", is used in this ordinance, such classification shall <br />be determined and fixed by the appointing authority. <br /> <br />Section 6. Ail compensation provided for herein shall be paid in equal instal- <br />lments every two (2) weeks. <br /> <br />Section 7. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; and Ordninance No. 16-77, adopted May 2, 1977 and all other ordinances <br />or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith shall be and are hereby amended. <br /> <br />ADOPTED: <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
