ORDINANCE NO. 25-77 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Chinnock, Magnotto, McBride~ <br />Salmon, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court, the time and method of payment thereof and repealing <br />Section 1 of Ordinance No. 41-74 adopted May 6, 1974. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.31 provides <br />that the legislative authority of this municipality shall fix the annual <br />salary of the Clerk of Courts, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Act further provides that the compensation of the Clerk shall <br />be paid three-fifths from the City Treasury and two-fifths from the Treasury <br />of the County in which the city is located, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the interest <br />of public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensa- <br />tion of the Clerk and direct the time and method of payment thereof; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood Municipal Court <br />is hereby fixed at $21,640.00 per annum effective March 1, 1977. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood is hereby <br />authorized and directed to pay three-fifths of the compensation of the <br />Clerk as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly installments <br />or in equal installments every two weeks. <br /> <br />Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for <br />the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by <br />the Mayor and Section 1 of Ordinance No. 41-74 adopted May 6, 1974 and <br />all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith, shall be <br />and are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: ~ .~; / f ~?. <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
